A letter from the Director.
A few years ago, I had one of those very real moments in life that makes you ponder the all too painful question..."What if?"
"What could I have done to prevent this from happening?"
"What could I have said, and at what moment, to stop it from occurring?"
...and so on. You've probably been there before too.
Dealing with this event, I realized there were a few similar moments in my life that I had never really come to terms with. I had only thought of those same questions each time and quickly moved on.
This was the inspiration for Collinsville. I wanted to make a film in which a person gets a chance to actually do something about a very important "what if?" situation in their life. One from their childhood. One they could revisit and see how different it is when seen through their adult eyes.
So I wrote a story dealing with these situations that formed the basis for the script by Nicholas Allen. I had a couple of other projects I had been working on at the time, but after reading his first draft of the script for Collinsville, I knew this was my next directing project.
Within six months, cameras were rolling. In another four we had our final cut. The production was a great success and we had a fantastic cast and crew that made it all happen.
I hope you truly enjoy the film.
